Chris Benson started his career as a Financial Advisor with a branch of SunAmerica in the year 2000. Later that year he moved to Professional Planning Associates where he worked until June 2011 when PPA merged with Financial Design Group. At FDG, he continues to be able to provide a high level of ongoing service, allowing him to maintain long-term relationships with his clients. With integrity and sincerity, he and his staff help clients meet their objectives through the use of insurance, investments and retirement strategies.

Chris has been a part of the valley’s growth for more than 35 years. Chris and his wife Carolyn enjoy camping up north and watching their daughter, Jessica and a son, Ryan and all their sports activities. Chris graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts from Northern Arizona University in 1998.

In 2008 Chris became a Chartered Financial Consultant, a financial planning designation awarded by The American College of Bryn Mawr. Chris had the required three years of experience in the financial industry and achieved the designation by passing examinations on the fundamentals of financial planning, including income tax, insurance, investments and estate planning.

A Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) member, Chris is a part of the premier association of financial professionals, an international, independent association of more than 35,000 members, or less than 1 percent of the world’s most successful insurance and financial services professionals. MDRT members demonstrate exceptional professional knowledge, strict ethical conduct and outstanding client service.

Chris has received the CLTC designation which is the most widely-accepted designation focused on long-term care strategies and long-term care insurance in the country. The purpose of the CLTC program is to educate insurance and financial service professionals on the need to talk to their clients about the consequences on families and retirement portfolios if long-term care needs are not addressed.

Members of The Society of Financial Service Professionals are credentialed financial service professionals who provide financial and retirement strategies, estate planning, asset management and other services and products to their clients. Members reflect a great diversity of financial practitioners from fee-only financial planners, estate planning attorneys and accountants, to asset managers, employee benefits specialists and life insurance agents.

December of 2007 Chris was elected to the Corporate Board of Directors for Paradise Schools which runs the charter schools Paradise Education Center (PEC) and Paradise Honors High School (PHHS).  Paradise Schools is committed to excellence when educating nearly 1500 students between PEC and PHHS, with PHHS being the only “Excelling” high school in Surprise Az.

Combining his enjoyment of camping and Paradise Schools, Chris has become the Chairperson for the semi-annual NASCAR fundraising event held at Phoenix International Raceway.  Managing around 30 volunteers over the 3-4 days, NASCAR/PIR has become one of the schools largest fundraisers.  He also works as the Finance Chair for the school carnival held at PEC each year.
